Data Improvements

Proclamation Sourcing

  • Codify now sources proclamations information from the Orders-In-Council websites.

  • This should dramatically speed up how quickly proclamation information is being sent out.

New Features

Request a Statute

  • Users now have the ability to request any statute they find missing in the database.

  • Missing statutes are typically "sleeping" statutes that haven't been amended, or had any regulations published under it, for many, many years.

  • Codify typically adds statute as activity occurs. However, users have mentioned wanting a way to be updated on these "sleeping" statutes as soon as a change happens.

  • This feature creates a new record of the statute. Once a human has had a chance to check (ensuring the record does not conflict with other entries in the Codify database), the statute will be added to the user's account and tracked.

  • To access this feature, you can find the page under the Help header at the top of the website.
