# Setting Up Feeds & Alerts

While the Codify Laws platform provides an easy way to keep up with the latest legislation, to provide further convenience, Codify offers a variety of ways to allow you to get updates from the comfort of your own email box. 

There are two primary types of ways to get updates from Codify: Feeds, and Alerts.

**Feeds** is the most powerful and widely used feature throughout Codify. By setting up a feed, you are essentially setting out certain search parameters which run on their own, detecting new items as they emerge and sending them to you.

**Alerts** are manual updates on specific items (i.e. individual bills), providng a more targetted way of tracking specific items.

The following section outlines some of the options that are available in terms of setting up feeds and alerts.
